How forest got the name: Mahavan is called as Brihadvan also. Brihad means Large this forest is one of the largest forests of twelve forests.
• About Mahavan:
Mahavan is situated about six miles east of Mathura. It is also called Brihadvan, because it is the largest of all the forests.It has three names: Mahavan, Gokul and Brihadvan. This Gokul is non-different from Goloka. Parjanya Gopa, the father of Goparaja Nanda Baba, initially resided at Nandgaon where he had five sons – namely Upanand, Abhinand, Nand, Sunand and Nandan – and two daughters named Sanand and Nandini.While staying in Nandgaon he gave all his sons and daughters in marriage. His middle son, Nanda, had no offspring, which caused Parjanya Gopa great concern. He worshipped Narayan with the hope that Nanda would father a child. By a voice in the sky, he came to know that a very brave son would soon be born to Sri Nanda.

Highlights of the Tour
o Raval: There is famous Radharani Temple on Birth place of Radharni. And Yamuna stream at the backyard of the temple which is preserved.
o Raman reti: The radha krishna temple of karsni ashram. Krishna would play alongwith the cowherd boys in smooth sand.
o Ukhal Bandhan sthali: The stone mortar. Lord Krishna was bound with the mortar.
o 84 pillars: This is nandbhavan, the palace of Nand Maharaja. Lord Krishna spent his child hood pastime in this palace till he was three years and eight months.
o Brahmand Ghat: This is the place where Lord Krishna ate the mud and showed Mother Yashoda the universes in His mouth. There is the temple of Bramand Vihari and Yamuna River flows nearby.
o Chintaharan Mahadev: This is the temple of Lord Shiva. Chinta means worries and haran means gets rid away. Mother Yashoda came to this place when she was distressed by seeing universes in Krishna’s mouth. As she took darshan of Mahadev and her worries went away.
o Dauji: Here very beautiful temple of Lord Balram along with his wife Revati who can be seen on the side of door.
Activities Plan
This morning pick up form Delhi and drive to Vrindavan. Upon arrival check in hotel later proceeds to sightseeing of Vrindavan, visit Isckon Temple, Krishna &Balram Temple, Banke Bihari Temple, Seva Kunj and Dham. Back to hotel. Overnight at hotel in Vrindavan.
This morning after breakfast check out from hotel and proceeds to visit Dwakadhish Temple, Krishna Janmabhoomi and other temple. Later drive back to Delhi.
