• How forest got the name: there are lots of tulasi plants in this forest one of the names of tulasi is vrinda because of this forest is called vrindavan.
• About Belvan:
Bela Vana, Braj is located on the other side of Shri Yamuna Devi, Vrindavan. Here is Shortest way to go to Belvana from Vrindavan, One can go from an unconstructed road or short bridge of Shri Yamuna, which connects outside of Banshivata, Dhira Samira etc and it goes to Mansarovar, Belvana.
It is called as Bela Vana as this forest is having ample amount of bael trees at the time of divine appearance of Shree Krishn. Shree Krishn performs different types of divine pastimes in this super attractive Bael forest(Belban) while herding cows with his companions and tasting ripe fruits as well. It is also one among twelve main forests of Braj. Today it is the attraction of many as deity of Goddess Laxmi and her located temple is situated here.
Belvan is the site where Lakshmi Devi came to perform austerities to get the association of Krishna in Ras Leela, but failed due to not following in the footsteps of the Gopis.
How forest got the name:
the word bel is the bilva tree, one can find plenty bilva trees in this forest. This forest is called as Laskhmi van also.
• Places to visit this forest:
Beautiful mother Lakshmi temple: The mother Laskhmi performed austerities here in order to achieve the position of a Gopi in Krishna’s pastimes. It is said that till now she didn’t get entrance in Raslila and she has been performing the austerities till today.
The Yamuna river: now a days river went little far away, one can see river at the back of the temple.
Activities Plan
This morning pick up form Delhi and drive to Vrindavan. Upon arrival check in hotel later proceeds to sightseeing of Vrindavan, visit Isckon Temple, Krishna &Balram Temple, Banke Bihari Temple, Seva Kunj and Dham. Back to hotel. Overnight at hotel in Vrindavan.
This morning after breakfast check out from hotel and proceeds to visit Dwakadhish Temple, Krishna Janmabhoomi and other temple. Later drive back to Delhi.
